Cristen’s jewelry is informed by her 35 year career as an award winning interior designer and an allied member of the American Society of Interior Design. Her passion for quality, detail, color, function, and a fine tuned creative eye translate elegantly to her jewelry designs. Cristen’s interest in history, human nature, color, art, architecture, the natural world, a life long love affair with the canine persuasion, and her world travels are all apparent in her jewels.

Bold beaded necklaces, antique micromosaics set in gold enhanced by precious and semi-precious stones,  pearl earrings in concert with cabochon stones set in gold, a multi-stone bracelet of extra large cabochons, a ring with a faceted large oval fresh green Mozambique tourmaline flanked by two sparkling cornflower blue Ceylon sapphires, these are but a few examples of Cristen’s designs.

New pieces are imagined and brought to life .  Jewelry that will be a means of self-expressed beauty.    Antique and vintage pieces that have a story to tell,  acquired with the discerning eye of an accomplished designer, are re-imagined by Cristen.  Jewelry that is  now a modern expression of  an earlier time and sustainable as well.   All are  pieces she would want to wear herself.

Cristen will communicate with you to design custom jewelry using your existing stones  and  may also acquire the highest quality new stones for your approval. Cristen Jewels has the latest technology in Computer Aided Drafting for jewelry. After listening to your ideas, Cristen will bring her design expertise to the project. Cristen says, “One of my greatest pleasures is working as a team with my clients to bring the creative vision to beautiful reality.” After an initial ‘meeting of the minds’, we will have an overall concept and a sketch. A CAD drawing to scale is then produced so you will see a true to life rendering of your piece. Next, after your approval and any changes we make, a wax mold will be made of the piece before highly skilled artisans craft it for you in the atelier.  Cristen works closely with the artisans throughout this process. All Cristen’s  pieces are proudly made in The United States of America.

Cristen is a member of the American Society of Jewelry Historians. She is available to present ‘Jewelry Through the Ages’, an informative talk using beautiful photographs to guide her audience through the intriguing history of jewelry and how it opens us to the culture and history of its time.
